Benaco Arte is located in the vineyards where is produced the famous Italian wine Lugana, 5 minutes by bike from Lago di Garda (Lake Garda) in Sirmione.
The antique name of the lake is Benaco, which comes from the Latin word BENACUS because of the many promontories.
Sirmione is a town in the province of Brescia, in Lombardy (northern Italy), located on the southern part of lake Garda, its peninsula divides the lower part of Lake Garda in two.
The two main historical landmarks of Sirmione are: the so-called Grotte di Catullus (Grotte di Catullo_Catullo’s caves), one of the largest example of a Roman private “villa” discovered in northern Italy. And the Castello Scaligero (Scaligero Castle) dated back to the XIII century.
The town is a well known and historic North-European touristic destination, renowned for its hot springs and beautiful lake side landscape. Garda Lake it’s also home of olive orchards and many small olive oil mills where is made refined local extra virgin olive oil.
